Growth and Development
Learning Objective:
- Develop and write a lesson plan that applies what you've learned thus far about teaching and learning.
- Teach your lesson plan to Teacher Cadet colleagues.
Activities:
- Select one element of growth and development for the topic of your lesson plan:
- Physical Development (Juan)
- Cognitive Development (Aaliyah & Leah)
- Moral Development (Tiffany)
- Psychosocial Development (Hannah & Melina)
- Social Cognitive Development (Diamond)
- Read the materials provided to gain a better understanding of the topic and approaches to teaching it.
- Conduct research to find additional resources and activities you might use in your lesson plan.
- To your growth and development Pinterest board, add at least five useful resources you found in your research.
- Add your growth and development board as a Pinterest widget to your blog sidebar. Here's how.
- Write your lesson plan. Be sure to include lesson objectives, activities, and assessment.
- Turn in your lesson plan to Mrs. Huff by Friday, September 20 to get feedback.
- Prepare to teach your lesson. Create everything you will need to teach the lesson--hand-outs, online resources, supplies for activities, etc.
- Teach your lesson in class on your assigned day the week of September 23.
Assessment:
- Lesson Plan: (emailed to Mrs. Huff by end of class Friday, 9/20)
- Shows a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles
- Includes 3 essential parts: objectives, activities, assessment
- Teaching Lesson: (week of September 23)
- Shows ample preparation.
- Engages all learners.
- Makes lesson objective clear to learners.
- Uses at least three activities to appeal to different learning styles.
- Includes assessment to see if learners mastered learning objective.
